Gail Williams, former member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Charles Deering McCormack Professor of horn at Northwestern University, is our special guest for the fall concert. Joining her on stage for Robert Schumann's Konzertstück for Four Horns are three of her talented Northwestern University graduate students: Matthew Oliphant, Katie McCarthy, and Gregory Hix. A tour-de-force for four horn soloists, this is a new arrangement of the orchestral original written especially for this NCB concert! We are very pleased to welcome back Matthew Oliphant, who was the recipient of the Northshore Concert Band's John P. Paynter scholarship in 2007.
Join us in the concert hall at 2:30 for a FREE pre-concert lecture by composer Ben Hjertman, who will discuss his composition
Catclaw Mimosa.
Program to include:

Frank Ticheli - Rest
Robert Schmann/arr. Saras - Konzertstuck for Four Horns
