Support Overview

Since 1956, Northshore Concert Band has been bringing the best in wind band music to Chicago’s North Shore and beyond through our subscription series concerts, guest engagements in concert series throughout the Chicago area, and CD recordings. In addition, we run several educational programs for music students from elementary through high school including our Festival of Music, Lifetime of Music concert, John P. Paynter Scholarship, and other events. We also serve as a resource for other community music groups, having published a how-to manual for community band organization and administration.

Concert ticket sales cover only a small portion of these activities. It is the generosity of foundations, corporations, and individuals that sustains us. Please consider one or more of the following ways to help make Northshore Concert Band’s musical and educational efforts possible.

Silent Auction and Raffle
Each year at the February concert, the Northshore Concert Band hosts its annual silent auction and a raffle for two round-trip airline tickets. All proceeds benefit the band's education and outreach programs.

Donate
The financial generosity of individuals like you makes the Northshore Concert Band’s many musical and educational activities possible.The NCB is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization. Your gift is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Gifts of Securities
Stock that has increased in value is one of the most popular assets used for charitable giving, once it has been held for a minimum of a year. Making a gift of securities to us offers you the chance to help our organization while realizing many important benefits for yourself. You will automatically become a member of The Paynter Society with a donation of $500 or more.

Planned Giving
If you are looking for a way to pass on your cherished values to the next generation and to benefit an organization you love, please consider making a planned gift to the Northshore Concert Band. You can accomplish these goals and potentially reduce your tax obligations through your will or living trust.
